Bespoke joinery in Bristol.
I design and make all aspects of bespoke joinery from my north Somerset workshop for homes across Bristol, Bath, Somerset and the South West. I make both modern and traditional timber windows, replacement timber doors, staircases, gates as well as fitted and free standing furniture. I also do traditional timber frame carpentry and top quality 1st fix structural carpentry as well as fine interior carpentry.
Perfectly designed and fitted furniture for your most awkward and under utilised spaces. I make alcove cabinets for around chimneys, kitchens, bathroom cabinetry and under stairs storage solutions. I carry through the same ethos to my fitted cabinetry as my traditional joinery. Everything is meticulously thought out and designed and I use carefully selected ironmongery to compliment each piece.
Where painting is desired I prefer to hand paint my furniture to retain the subtle character of truly hand crafted work.
Beautifully handcrafted traditional joinery made to the highest standards using traditional mortice and tenon joinery techniques. I work with English Oak, Chestnut and other homegrown timbers to create stunning pieces of timeless joinery which takes knowledge from the past to allow it to last long in to the future.
I make like for like replacement front doors, both painted and natural finish, using high quality ironmongery and natural paints. I also make interior doors and new patio doors for extensions or new builds. Alongside doors I also make wooden windows for traditional buildings as well as doing timber window conservation work on heritage properties.
Stunning statements with function. This contemporary Brise Soleil was designed as a statement piece addition to the clients extension to grow a large Wisteria on to provide some much needed shade from the sun to combat the overheating issues they were having due to the glass on the rear of the house. We sourced the Douglas fir from a local sawmill, they manage the woodland themselves and take responible thinnings.
A mix of the traditional and contemporary it has a traditionally jointed front frame using pegged mortice and tenon joints with hand drawn oak pegs, a scarf joint to lengthen the front beam and features stainless steel post shoes, bolt fixings and concealed hangers.

Oak frame building has to be one of the most special and beloved crafts in the UK. Thousands of years of geometry, architecture, engineering, understanding of structure, timber, forestry and trees is rolled up in this incredible craft. We have learnt from generations of craftspeople through mistakes and ingenious learning and understanding. When we create traditional Oak frame buildings we are standing on the shoulders of giants.
I try to honour this craft in the best way I can by building true to these methods that have been passed down and by continuing to learn from some of the most incredible teachers and leading craftspeople in the UK through my involvement with the Carpenters Fellowship.
